Today the Daily News reported on the renewal for rent stabilization that is up to the city council and state legislature. They can also pass legislation to strengthen the position of tenants. What came out of yesterday's city council hearings is the report that 35% of renters in NYC are paying 30% of their salaries for rent. Another 33% are paying our 50% of their salaries for rent. At this rate we can expect more people becoming homeless.
